Poet, actor and teacher Gary Maggio, pictured at right, is accepting submissions of poetry for a Capital Region Poets Workshop he will facilitate, co-sponsored and supported by the NYS Writers Institute.
The free workshop will meet at the Albany Public Library’s Delaware Avenue branch Community Room (331 Delaware Ave, Albany) every two weeks, on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., beginning on January 22, 2020 or shortly thereafter.

Planning is underway for the NYS Writers Institute Albany Film Festival to be held Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the University at Albany. Save the date!
Along with special guests, film screenings and workshops, we invite you to contribute your originally produced short films.
Submissions will screened to determine the official selections to be shown during the film festival.

The NYS Writers Institute welcomed legendary director Francis Ford Coppola to The Egg's Hart Theatre in Albany on Sunday, Oct. 6, for the regional premiere of "The Cotton Club Encore," a re-cut version of his 1984 film.
