Albany Book Festival returns Sept. 26

The NYS Writers Institute’s ninth annual Albany Book Festival returns to the University at Albany on Saturday, September 26.
Featured authors include:
• Pulitzer Prize-winning environmental writer Elizabeth Kolbert, whose latest book, Life on a Little-Known Planet, explores the wonders and mysteries of life on Earth;
• pioneering feminist scholar Carol Gilligan;
• acclaimed novelist Gish Jen;
• and legendary New York restaurateur Keith McNally, author of the new memoir I Regret Almost Everything.
Panel discussions will explore topics shaping our world today, including:
• climate and the natural world,
• Iran and the Iranian American experience,
• Irish and Irish American fiction,
• memoir,
• contemporary thrillers,
• Toni Morrison's enduring literary legacy,
• women who challenge expectations,
• food and agriculture,
• New York history,
• and the ongoing national conversation about transgender athletes in sports.

• Porochista Khakpour, acclaimed novelist (Tehrangeles: A Novel)
