Author Emily Layden grew up in New York's Capital Region, graduated from Stanford University, and taught high school English at girls’ schools around the country.
She has returned recently to the Albany area and is pursuing a writing career. Her non-fiction work has appeared in The New York Times, Marie Claire, The Billfold, and Runner's World.
Her debut novel, All Girls, published in February by St. Martin’s Press, is an engrossing coming-of-age story set in a New England boarding school spanning one tumultuous year from orientation to commencement.
