Have you ever driven past the University at Albany campus and wondered what students are doing these days?
We invite you to the inaugural Showcase Day at the University at Albany on Thursday, April 27. The event will highlight the academic excellence Albany students exemplify through their research, scholarship, creative activities, and experiential learning.
As part of Showcase Day, our graduate assistant Christy O'Callaghan-Leue has organized a program of readings that will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Science Library, Room 340, just down the hall from our office in Room 320.
If you plan to attend Showcase, stop by our office and say hello, and if you have time, head on over to the Podium – the fountain is on! -- for a performance by the UAlbany Spirit Band at 4 p.m.
More about Showcase Day
This day-long event unites UAlbany's existing student showcases and conferences and invites students across all disciplines to present their work. The showcase will include poster presentations, research talks, art exhibitions, and student performances.
Showcase Day is an academic, classroom-free day for our students. Faculty and staff, as well as community members, and prospective students, are also invited to attend.
Events will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. around the Academic Podium, including the Lecture Center Concourse, the University Art Museum, Performing Arts Center, University Library, as well as in the Science Library (where we are located), the Campus Center and ETEC.
How to Attend
Showcase Day is open to all and free to attend but registration is required via the Whova Conference app, where you'll find the Showcase Day program and student information. You can use the app to explore presentations and select those you’re most interested in attending.
Review the event for Showcase sites, parking, shuttle stops, and other information. Parking and shuttle access are free. The Dutch Quad student lot is the closest parking lot to the Science Library. See the Showcase event location and parking map.
Most presentations will be within walking distance of each other. However, the UAlbany shuttle will be available for trips around the Uptown Campus and for rides to and from ETEC.
