They discuss how poets and poetry open mic events are adapting to the COVID-19 times, Dan's self-described "largest collection of photos of unknown poets," Albany's annual Poets in the Park event, his memories of hanging out with Beat poet icon Allen Ginsberg, his recollection of his military service during the Vietnam War era, and his longtime connection with the Veterans for Peace organization.

Poets in the Park event

Poets in the Park is celebrating over 30 years of bringing poetry in July to the Robert Burns statue in Washington Park, Albany, NY.  During this year of COVID-19 there will be only one reading at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 25. The readers will be Sarah Giragosian & Austin Houston.  

In case of rain the reading will be held on Sunday, July 26, same place, same time.  The event is free & open to the public; donations are accepted.

Poets in the Park is sponsored & funded by the Hudson Valley Writers Guild & the Poetry Motel Foundation.
