About "The Giver"

At the age of twelve, Jonas, a young boy from a seemingly utopian, futuristic world, is singled out to receive special training from The Giver, who alone holds the memories of the true joys and pain of life. In the process, Jonas is forced to question everything in his ideal world: a world without conflict, poverty, unemployment, divorce, injustice, or inequality.
Lois Lowry’s Newbery-Award winning bestselling book has become the gold standard for the young adult genre. Told with deceptive simplicity, it’s a provocative story of a boy who experiences something incredible and undertakes something impossible.

Actor bio
Aurea Tomeski is a New York based actor, producer, and teaching artist. She holds an M.F.A. in Acting (New School) and received additional training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Since 2015, Aurea has toured extensively across the United States performing Literature to Life's one-woman version of Lois Lowry’s classic young adult novel, The Giver, and she has also appeared in national commercials, web-series, and independent films. She recently completed a theatrical co-adaptation of the acclaimed autobiography "The Latehomecomer," another Literature to Life touring title.
