Albany Film Festival: What you need to know

"We managed to pull off a hybrid event last year, even in a heavy downpour at the Malta Drive-In, which reminded us of how much people love to watch films together. We hope to draw a large crowd to our indoor screens and comfortable venues on the UAlbany uptown campus on Saturday for this free community event.

The combination of screening full-length films, discussions of adapting books into films and conversations about the screenwriting craft underscore the “bookish” nature of the Albany Film Festival.

It is a celebration of storytelling on screen.

Come join the conversation."

– Paul Grondahl, NYS Writers Institute
