The fourth annual Albany Film Festival on Saturday, April 6, 2024 will draw thousands of film lovers of all ages and highlight the work of major and regional filmmakers.
The all-day event will feature screenings and discussions and a ceremony to honor Ironweed Award winners for their achievement in film.
One of the highlights of the film fest is the screening of short films and the awards ceremony.
We invite New York-based filmmakers to submit their film shorts for the 2024 Albany Film Festival Short Film Awards.
2024 Albany Film Festival awards and monetary prizes will be given out for the following: Best Overall Short Film--$500 Best Overall Student Short Film--$300 -- The award for Best Overall Student Short film is sponsored by The Brendan Fahy Bequette Fund, per Patricia Fahy & Wayne Bequette.
Best Comedic Short Film--$150
Best Dramatic Short Film--$150
Best Experimental Short Film--$150
Best Documentary Short Film--$150
Short film submissions must have a connection to New York State. For student short film submissions, you must be a student in New York State.
