This year's festival will focus on the timely and enduring work of George Orwell

The Deep Water Literary Fest returns to Narrowsburg, Sullivan County, next weekend with a lineup of authors and artists headlined by Rebecca Solnit, Lucy Sante, Jad Abumrad, and George Orwell’s son, Richard Blair.
This year’s festival will explore the work of writer and journalist George Orwell, with particular attention paid to his nonfiction, such as “Down and Out in Paris and London” and his many columns for newspapers in the 1930s and 40s.
Festival programming will explore the continuing relevance of Orwell’s vision and his impact on literature and society 73 years after his death.
