An Evening with Dan Rather 

How to register for your free tickets

The University at Albany Speaker Series special event with Dan Rather will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019, at the

SEFCU Arena, University at Albany Uptown Campus,

1400 Washington Avenue, Albany NY 12222.

This is a University Speakers Series event. Tickets are free, but registration is required. Two per registrant.

Free parking is available in the Dutch Quad parking lots (there will be signage).

Wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses will be available from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. to assist you with getting to/from the arena. Or, if you prefer, it is a short 3-5 minute walk to the venue.

Your safety is our first priority. As you arrive to the SEFCU Arena, you will be greeted by the UAlbany Police Department who will conduct a speedy inspection of all belongings you may have with you.  Large bags, backpacks, and food/beverages including water bottles are prohibited.

Step-by-step instructions for obtaining free tickets. If you have trouble registering, please contact eventtickets@albany.edu or 518-442-5549.

  1. Click on http://ualbany.universitytickets.com/user_pages/event.asp?id=412 (The page will open in a new window.)

  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the underlined word login in the sentence “Please login to purchase tickets.”

  3. If you are a member of the general public (including alumni), click on the purple button that says “General Public.” If you are current a faculty member, staff or student, click the other button.

  4. Most members of the general public will need to fill out a “New User Registration.” Unless you have already created a password for previous events (e.g. athletic events or a previous Speaker Series event), please fill out all fields on this page. Note: There is no charge for Dan Rather tickets.

  5. You MUST press the blue button that says “Save” at the bottom of the page.

  6. You will be redirected to a Dan Rather ticket page.

  7. Bottom right corner, select 1 or 2 tickets. (maximum of 2 tickets per registration).

  8. You must press the button that says “Checkout” on this page even though the tickets are free.

  9. You will be taken to a second page that asks if the ticket holders are alumni. You must press “Checkout” (again!) on this page.

  10. You will receive an email with a PDF attachment that contains the tickets.

  11. Click “Print/Save all tickets” to download a PDF of your ticket(s). 

  12. Bring the tickets to SEFCU Arena.

  13. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Event begins at 7:30 p.m.
